Not This Again

August 8, 2011

I can’t really think of a unique/creative way to discuss tonight’s game, because I feel like this is something Tribe fans saw almost every day this week.  A close lead that the typically reliable bullpen couldn’t hold.  Unlike last night, the Tribe wasn’t able to come from behind at the end.

I didn’t have much better like with the Indians’ minor league affiliates this weekend – I saw the Akron Aeros fall to the New Britain Rock Cats 4-3 on Saturday night, and I saw the Lake County Captains losing 4-1 tonight before the game was called for rain.  While I was setting up books for a signing tonight, I completely missed Shin-Soo Choo taking batting practice with the Captains.  He’s set to play in the outfield for them tomorrow night, so it will be interesting to see how he does in live action.

After the off-day on Monday, the Indians start a three game series with Detroit.  It looks like the Tribe will face Justin Verlander on Thursday, so they really could’ve used the extra game they would’ve gained in the standings with a win on Sunday.

Agreed……..We’ll be lucky to get 3 hits off Verlander…..He is simply in another league…I think that this is the fourth loss in a row in which we had the lead or tied the game…..Its happened so much that I expect us to lose leads, especially on the road….
