The Indians announced today that Roberto Hernandez (the pitcher formally known as Fausto Carmona) has acquired his visa to enter the United States and is on his way to Cleveland. He is scheduled to report to Progressive Field Sunday morning, where he will address the media and throw for the staff.

The  Office of the Commissioner of Baseball also announced today that  Hernandez has received a suspension of three weeks for engaging in age and identity fraud. In addition, Hernandez has agreed to restructure his player contract with the Indians. Hernandez will serve his suspension effective today through Friday, August 10th. He will be eligible for a rehab assignment to one of the Indians’ minor league affiliates during his suspension.

Perhaps this is why the Indians’ front office hasn’t made any trade deals for a pitcher. Anyhow, I’m willing to give Hernandez a chance to show what he’s been up to for the past eight months.
