If you’re like me, you were getting the tornado text messages as your town’s tornado siren blared in the background this afternoon. The worst of the weather seems to be gone though, and hopefully we’re set for a nice evening for a ball game. It’s the battle of young/rookie pitchers tonight with Trevor Bauer taking on Masahiro Tanaka for the Yankees. I’m concerned about this lineup facing a pitcher of Tanaka’s caliber, but I guess they could surprise me.
Lineups:
Indians:
Jason Kipnis, 2B
Asdrubal Cabrera, SS
Michael Brantley, CF
Carlos Santana, DH
Lonnie Chisenhall, 3B
Nick Swisher, 1B
David Murphy, RF
Yan Gomes, C
Chris Dickerson, LF
Yankees:
Brett Gardner, LF
Derek Jeter, SS
Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
Mark Teixeira, DH
Brian McCann, C
Brian Roberts, 2B
Ichiro Suzuki, RF
Kelly Johnson, 1B
Zelous Wheeler, 3B
#TribeTrivia Who was the last Yankees pitcher to toss a shutout against the Indians?

If I’ve done the math right, Lonnie Chisenhall needs 5 ABs tonight to qualify for the batting title.
Frustrating to see us give up those cheap early runs. Going against Tanaka, I wondered if we already blew it. But we battled back and how about Swisher, hope he’s finally heating up. Bauer has really battled, and actually should have a shutout or at least a run or two less at the very least, thanks to some poor defense. Hope the bullpen can close this one out. Adding some more runs wouldn’t hurt. GO TRIBE!
