Tonight, T.J. House takes the mound for the Indians against Jeremy Guthrie for the Royals.  House has never faced the Royals, and is coming off a good start against Seattle where he gave up just one earned run on six hits, in six innings pitched.  Guthrie is coming off a nice start against the Angels, where he gave up two earned runs on eight hits in 6.2 innings pitched.  The Indians hit Guthrie well the other time they saw him this year, their collective batting line was .357/.357/.714, and Guthrie’s ERA was 5.68.  These are in line with their decent career numbers against Guthrie – .281/.339/.450 at the plate, as Guthrie has a 5.37 lifetime ERA against the Tribe.

The Indians looked bad at the plate last night, but they’ve had problems with Yordano Ventura almost every time they’ve faced him.  I’m hoping (perhaps I’m being overly optimistic since I’m going tonight and want to see a good game) that this could end up like the game against Josh Beckett and the Dodgers earlier this week.  A pitcher having a decent season, who the Indians have a habit of preying upon.
