Tonight Corey Kluber and Pedro Hernandez square off in game two of the Indians four-game series with Minnesota.  Kluber didn’t seem to have his best stuff last Sunday against Houston, but he managed to minimized the damage until the offense could kick it into high gear as the Indians won 9-2.  Kluber has faced Minnesota three times this season – in his most recent start against them on July 20, he surrendered 0 ER and just 3 hits over 5 innings pitched.  The other two times he faced them, he surrendered three earned runs each time.

Hernandez went to the Twins last summer in the Francisco Liriano trade, and has faced the Indians two times this season – on May 3 and June 23.  In May, he gave up 5 ER on 8 hits in 5.1 innings pitched, and in June he surrendered just 2 ER on 3 hits in 5.1 innings pitched.  He only lasted two innings in his last start against Oakland on September 21, giving up 6 ER on 8 hits, but had a string of decent starts this month prior to that.  Hopefully the Indians are able to beat up on him like Oakland.

Just turned the game on. Mid 1st 4-0 Tribe. Well, that escalated quickly.

Does Joe Smith come out from the bullpen or does Tito run ‘Purple Haze’ out there again?

Tribe win, everyone had at least one hit, don’t look now but our offense has scored 5 or more in 5 straight, won 2 in a row w/o Bourn in the lineup, Rays lose, only thing we didn’t get was a Texas loss. I really wish the wild card game was Monday I do not think this team needs a day off right now and especially not two.
