The Indians wrap up their regular season games with the Tigers today as Danny Salazar takes on Justin Verlander.  Salazar is coming off a decent, albeit extremely brief start against the Atlanta Braves, where he gave up 2 ER on 3 hits over 4 innings pitched.  Verlander, who is already having an off season (for him) took the loss against Oakland last week, giving up 3 ER on 4 hits over 5 innings pitched.

Salazar faced the Tigers in early August, and stayed in just a bit longer than he probably should have.  He had managed to strike out Miguel Cabrera three separate times, before Cabrera took him deep with a monster home run.  Salazar looked good up until that point.  The Indians have had some success against Verlander throughout his career – they’ve seen him four times so far this season.  They knocked him around in both of his May appearances against them, and did well against him in June.  However the last time they saw him, on August 6, he allowed just 1 ER and 4 hits over 8 innings pitched.
