Matt - Have fun! It should be pretty awesome!

Mary Jo - I have not eaten there...I'll have to check it out. I haven't done a lot of hiking since I've been staying in Phoenix (I did a lot when I used to stay down in Tucson). In fact, my last year in Tucson, I strained my back on a hike. This normally wouldn't be a huge deal, but it was right before the conference I was attending (and presenting at). It hurt to sit in a chair all day, and I had to speak half hunched over! I think I've been kind of gun shy since then, which is dumb. I go on hikes all of the time without pulling my back, it's not like I'm any more likely just because it's Arizona.

If you haven't grabbed a bite to eat at a Filiberto's, I highly recommend. Unless they've changed since we ate at one years ago you get lots of yummy food for small prices. I checked their website and there is one in Avondale. They also have coupons at their website.

Also, if you have time and you want to challenge yourself head to Camelback Mountain and hike to the top via the Summit trail. It has a few challenging places along the way, especially that last 1/8 mile, but the view is spectacular! Just suck it up and go - I did it when I was 49!
