He was never the kind of man who idolized the players of the 1940s and 1950s at the expense of the more modern player--he always loved watching Kenny Lofton, Albert Belle, and CC Sabathia, for example. But ever since I was a child, he always maintained that the best hitter he ever saw--and he paid money to see Ted Williams and Mickey Mantle in their primes--was Stan Musial.]]></description>
