Damon will come around but if he does not before July he will be gone. I think this years Indians team though they dont hit to well, know how to win games so I am expecting them to go all the way. Yes World Series winners, Cleveland Indians. As for the attendance, I live in South America and still follow the tribe and I am very disappointed on the Cleveland fans for not showing more support to this team.

Interesting thought. Lopez hasn’t played the outfield since joining the Mariners farm system 12 years ago, so I’m guessing it won’t happen, but it’s something to consider. Duncan and Damon aren’t exactly assets in the field, so it might be worth at least letting him shag some flies before a game to see what he can do.

I think you should definitely check out LaPorta’s home/road splits in AAA before anointing him our savior (thanks as always to Mr. Pluto). It amazes me how much people are willing to forget now that The Door is hitting again in AAA.

It would one thing to wait for Damon’s bat to come around if he was contributing defensively. Last night after catching a fly ball in the first he one hopped the throw to Asdrubal. Obviously that was one throw, but he has always been known for having a week arm. When all you are here for is your offence I would expect more than a .160 average

While I agree that Ubaldo has been a dissapointment, I think it was great to see him battle and get through this one with only giving up 3, on a homer. Hopefully this spring boards him forward. If this can be his worst start in his next 5 that would be great. He has to get the confidence back and start pounding the strikezone consistently.

Matt LaPorta tearing it up in Columbus? Never heard that before.

I totally agree, I thought the standing ovation might have been a little patronizing as well..the best part though was the announcer stating “They are giving him a standing ovation…but there aren’t alot of them” HAha

In regards to LaPorta I believe he is out of options so if/when the Indians to call him up to play LF its probably going to be his last chance to prove to the club he’s not just a 4-A player!
