Some of his routes are mysterious and at times he seems more interested in showing off his arm than hitting the cutoff man. Not sure if he doesn’t see the ball well off the bat (a Valbuena contagion?)or his mind just wanders.

Obviously there’s a lot of season left, but if the decline continues (an OF with an OPS less than .700??), there’s no way they can pay him $8+ million a year for several years.

Hitting is one thing, but for the last couple of years his antics in RF have had me most worried – he doesn’t seem to take a clear path to the ball consistently. I’m not sure if his vision is going (it’s a common theory amongst my family), but something isn’t right with the guy.

I like Choo as well. He plays hard and and can be a capable hitter in a collectively good offense (we saw a glimpse of that last night when he and Brantley chipped in).

However, unless he decides on a home team discount or improves to a point where his performance demands the Indians keep him, it is difficult to see him staying in Cleveland.

I really like Choo; I like what he represents as a team player. But it’s very likely that his agent’s desires and the Cleveland Indians’ do not align. As such, it’s best for both organizations to seek excellence elsewhere. Personally, I hope we do not trade him because that means we are sellers in July. I wonder if the team could throw him a farewell party in January and sell tickets to fans. The proceeds could go to a charity of Choo’s choosing.
