The Scouring of the Shire was also an exclusion I lamented but not too much because I am glad my mind’s image of it has not been tampered with.

One of the many reasons I like the LOTR books so much is because they are books, not scripts or movie treatments masquerading as books. And one of the reasons I like the LOTR movies is because Jackson and Co. were able to make some pretty swell movies even though their source material was probably pretty daunting.

I would watch Kelly Preston read the phone book.’For the Love of The Game’ is a pretty good movie though.

I’m a book is better guy with ‘Field of Dreams’.But the movie is great and I wouldn’t change a thing.Kind of like having the DH in one league but not the other.

The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy is a lot like I see it in my minds eye.My nephew and I were talking about casting the characters long before the movie was even in the works and we settled on Hugo Weaving as being the perfect Elrond and were shocked when it was announced.Stilled bummed by the exclusion of Tom Bombadil though.

I also liked the movie version of Field of Dreams better than Shoeless Joe. Once the images get set in your mind it’s hard to shake them lose. On the flip side, I waited 30 years for Fellowship of the Ring to make it to theaters and it took several viewings before I got used to Peter Jackson’s vision, not the one in my head.

I can not say this about any other book/movie combination but I think actually like Field of Dreams more than Shoeless Joe by W.P. Kinsella.
