I’ve never been a super huge Damon fan, but I’ll admit that I’ll take anyone shy of Tris Speaker’s ghost at this point! Actually, if Tris Speaker’s ghost could still manage to get on base, I’d take him too!

So if you are third base coach, and there is a flyball to left field, no matter what the depth is, you will send him because it’s Johnny Damon. I know he will be an upgrade on offense, hell my left thumb could possibly be an upgrade to the offense, but so would have Kosuke Fukudome and they had the opportunity to resign him and he has a better arm and he is younger. I do not believe that Johnny Damon will earn less than what the White Sox are paying Fukudome, $0.5M this season.

I was hoping to be able to post a more detailed update, but according to Paul Hoynes (http://tinyurl.com/6n485ft) of the Plain Dealer, the Damon signing won’t take place today. It will also take about two weeks for him to join the Indians.

Heck of a clubhouse guy and teammate when he was in Bahstun playing for the Red Sox. He’d be great to have around all our younger guys to show them how the game is played. Great addition, but it would be nice if he wouldn’t bring his noodle arm.
