I don't know if I share your optimism but I do believe the Tigers will regress a little this year.

1. Austin Jackson--Speed but horrible OBP
2. Miggy--nothing more to say (horrible fielding obviously)
3. Prince--he's replacing v-marts #'s as said before and that (outside of HRs) is a tall task
4. Peralta--Not so much of a liability defensively as A-cab, but he can hit 17+ HRs in his sleep
5. Boesch--I see him being a solid bat for the Tigers
6. Avila--Has to come back to Earth
7. Valverde--Last closer I remember going 100% in saves was Lidge with the Phillies the year they won it all. Next season he didnt do too hot. I expect the same.
8. Benoit--Not sold on him or Albuquerque
9. Scherzer/Fister--Confused on what their "norm" is. If Fister is more a groundball pitcher as his stats allude to then his IF defense could let him down.

Avila also came out of nowhere to put up strong numbers but faded down the stretch. Can he do it again? We just need some dominoes to fall our way and regression to norms by some Tigers.

Thanks for the comment.

The Tigers had a fortunate season last year along with some singular performances from Verlander and Valverde.

Looking at their team, their line up is not scary at all.
Cabrera is awesome, maybe the best hitter in the game right now.
Fielder has some scary home/road splits over his career,if he hits in Comerica like he did on the road in the NL it'll be a long season for him.And he's only replacing VMart's numbers.
Peralta,Delmon Young,Raburn, Kelly not a scary stick in that bunch.
Their pitching staff is thin with no depth, their fifth starter is straight up from AA and their bullpen is Valverde and Benoit and not much else.
Cabrera, Peralta, Raburn and Fielder isn't an infield it's a museum.
Any injuries at all and they're in trouble, they get hit like the Twins or the Tribe did and they won't see .500.
