When I was kid, it was the AL East. The beatings pre-date the expansion to three divisions.

Chris, the Indians were in the AL East up until 1993 and were certainly kicked around in that division. Moving to the central was the best thing they ever did

That’s all very nice. As for Masterson, he was always a very good pitcher, and seemed like a nice guy, and I don’t know anybody on this end who wanted to see him leave. I’m also not sure it was a case of anyone in Boston wanting him to be just a reliever. My recollection is that it was just a matter of finding the time and the place, and now he has, and it shouldn’t be terribly surprising that he’s doing pretty well. Anyhow, have always liked Cleveland and the people who come from there, and glad to see the Indians doing well. Should be a fun series.
