His primary problem is he can’t get around on inside pitches because his stance has him right on top of the plate so pitchers have a large area of the strike zone to attack,leading to a lousy OBP in the majors despite this being a strength while he was in the minor leagues.Looking at his hot zones vs. lefties bears this out as well

Essentially,you have to be a good hitter to achieve a good OBP and Brantley is too easy of an out right now(cue soft fly ball to left),his only hot zones are right down the middle of the plate.

The only thing he has going for him is his age.
