I do think that Hafner could be better further removed from injury.

And I’d like to see Manny land with someone. Despite his transgressions, I can’t help but like the guy (as long as he’s some other team’s train wreck).

No way, no how.

The trade only makes sense as a salary dump. Although Hafner has been a huge financial albatross the last few seasons, for the fans and the team to buy into this ‘winning window’ of the next 2 years (and hence the Jimenez trade) we need a healthy Hafner much more than any kind of AJ Burnett.

I also think Hafner has a bounce back year. Better lineup around him, another year removed from surgery (sort of like a pitcher who has a Tommy John procedure and needs the first year back to regain functional strength, etc).

The fun of being an imaginary GM . . . .
