Stephanie, the minor league teams around here are all at least an hour away. ANYthing cool is at least an hour away! We went to Pawtucket just to get a Tribe fix. Other than that I just wait for Hammy. At least 1100 has a majorly large signal. Once the Long Island radio station sharing those numbers goes dark at sundown we can usually pick up WTAM when we're out driving around. As far north as Freeport, ME, as far south as Sanford, FL and as far west as western AR. Or maybe TX. Not bad!

I've wanted to see Altoona - I'll definitely add it to my "to do" list!

I unfortunately never got to see the Indians play at Hi Corbett, but I did see the Rockies there before they moved to the Phoenix area. I really liked it - wish I could've seen the Tribe there.

Don't forget the Mudhens and Buffalo and Dayton too.
If you want to have a singular minor league experience then Altoona ,Pa.is a must see.

I went to Winterhaven a couple of times and to paraphrase Bette Davis "What a dump!"
I always loved Hi Corbett field in Tuscon though.

HA! Yeah, I'm not very good at hiding!

Are there a lot of minor league teams around you in New England? That's what I like about northeast Ohio...you have the Aeros, Captains and Scrappers. Plus the Clippers aren't really that far either!

We were at Chain of Lakes twice. Had family living in the area and figured "why not?". The first year it was too early to catch a game so we just went to watch conditioning. Still remember the guys working out in the grass to the right...they were standing with their backs to us doing some kind of leg stretches and the view was nice! *winkwink*

The second time we took in a game. Could not believe how close we were even with being near the back of the venue. And got to walk the bases after the game. Bonus! That relaxed feeling between opposing fans goes for the minor league game we went to once in Pawtucket. The Clippers were playing the PawSox and I was so excited to see Santana. Then the Tribe called him up two days before our game. :-(

Finally, "hidden" cow? In plain site! :-)
