That’s too funny – I had my Sizemore shirt on the other day as well! I dubbed it casual week at work and went for t-shirts and sweatpants every day. I like Grady, I still plan to wear it wherever he ends up. (Heck, I still wear the Ronnie Belliard shirt I picked up on the clearance rack for $1.99).

I absolutely agree. I have an Indians Sizemore shirt that I put on yesterday for the first time since the announcement that they wouldn’t pick up the team option and it hit me. Unfortunately, I sometimes have more heart than head when it comes to Cleveland sports – I really hope he ends up in a Tribe uniform. Either way, I’ll continue to wear the shirt. Grady is an Indian for life, no matter where he goes.

I think $4 million or less for a base is fair…if he’s able to meet the incentives, then the deal could approach the original value $9 million option.

I’m a little confused on the Sizemore insight:

“If the Indians can convince him to return for a low base salary with a ton of incentives, it would be a good deal. Unfortunately, when you’re a low budget team like the Indians, you can’t take a risk on a player like Sizemore at that price.”

If Sizemore were to reach those incentives (eg, plays # games, hits # HRs, # avg, # RBIs, etc), then there wouldn’t be any risk with the low base salary, right? I guess it just depends on what monetary value is applied to low base salary.

I’d be happy if the Tribe could get Grady for <$4M + incentives. Production aside, Grady being on the field sells tickets. Not sure how realistic that is or what Grady actually expects. If he expects $9M/yr, then I don't think we want a guy like Grady on our squad.
