The Indians’ off-season of turnover continues.

The Cardinals brought lefty relief ace Andrew Miller onto their club on a two-year deal, worth $25 million, with a vesting option for 2021 and performance incentives.

Miller, of course, was the prized summer acquisition of 2016 that helped their World Series push greatly. But injuries and numerous stints on the disabled list had a lot to do with his performance slowing down over the past two seasons. Couple this with the Indians’ edict to shed some money, there wasn’t much of a chance of a return.

However, Miller was a worthwhile gamble for any team looking to shore up their relief corps. And the prospect of a fully healthy Andrew Miller paired with the still-developing Jordan Hicks is a terrifying one-two punch in the late innings for opposing hitters to face.
