At long last, it’s finally over. The Indians regular season, a foregone conclusion since the Indians safely landed in Seattle at the start of the season, finally came to an end on Sunday afternoon. The Indians are in the postseason for the third year in a row, and will head to Houston to play the Astros this coming week.

This game had very little of note offensively. Frankie Lindor finishes the season with 38 home runs, and he managed to score both runs in this game. Josh Donaldson had a hit, as did Yandy Diaz, but it was a ho-hum game for a team that is clearly preparing mentally for the playoffs.

Cookie and Bauer pitched in this game, each pitching about half. Cookie got into a spot of trouble in the fifth inning, allowing a run, but then Bauer pitched the last four innings for a save(!).

The next time you hear from me, the Indians will be firmly into the playoffs and we’ll all be glued to our seats. Here’s hoping it truly is an October to remember.

In the meanwhile, don’t miss the chaos of the National League. The Cubs and Brewers and the Dodgers and Rockies are all tied atop their respective divisions and will play play-in games on Monday. The losers of those games will then meet on Tuesday to play for the Wild Card.

So while it’s not the Indians, it’s some great baseball to watch.

It’s been a great season, folks, and it’s not over yet.
