The Indians take on the Twins in Minneapolis this evening, as Shane Bieber takes the mound against Ervin Santana. Normally a late July series with your closest division foe would be wrought with tension, but with the Twins 9 games back and sellers at the trade deadline, it’s a bit anticlimactic.
Santana, who spent most of the season on the disabled list, will make just his second start of the season. The Indians struggled against Santana last year; it was obviously a small sample size, but in the four games he faced the Tribe in 2017 he sported an 0.38 ERA. Hopefully the Indians can continue their offensive rush from Sunday in Detroit, and not replicate a 2017 performance against Santana.
