The Tribe will try to win the series and their fourth straight game, as Mike Clevinger squares off against Giancarlo Stanton‘s best friend, Mike Fiers.
Now since the Indians are the only game in town, there is no place to hide their season-long consistency of inconsistency. But suddenly, they are now armed with a five-game cushion on the Tigers (and a 5.5-game lead on the Twins), potentially burying the most likely of unlikely competitors. Are they finally hitting their stride? You would hope so, but every time I declare them as separated from the rest of the AL Central pack, they somehow allow the Tigers or Twins right back into things.
There’s still the chance of a championship parade, though.
