ESPN’s 30 for 30 voice-over guy:

What if I told you that on April 2, 2018, you’d see something that is objectively more rare than a perfect game? That you would bear witness to sight that no one could believe if they went to bed early?

Tonight, you saw a turtle outrun a cheetah. Tonight, you saw a Vespa win the Indianapolis 500.

Tonight, you saw Edwin Encarnacion hit an inside-the-park home run.

No. Really. You did.

Poor Matt Underwood appeared to be so flummoxed by what was actually happening that he never gave this moment in time its proper dose of overzealous elation that he gives routine fly-outs on a regular basis.

But never fear, here is Tom Hamilton’s call, in which he did the entire play justice in the only way he can.

Normally, this would be a night where we rave about the Tribe’s sudden dominance over the Halos, having now won 12 straight. Or how exciting Mike Clevinger‘s (5.1 INN/4 H/5 SO/2 BB) continued development is. Or Yonder Alonso‘s long-ball potential, as he smoked another no-doubter. Or how Bradley Zimmer‘s speed can wreak havoc to produce runs all by himself. Or how Tyler Naquin, who looks like a slimmer Nick Swisher with a reworked stance and 5 o’ clock shadow stubble, hit his first homer since his own memorable inside-the-parker. Or who has abducted Jose Ramirez. (For those of you pointing to my game thread, I’m joking. Sheesh!)

But no, this night belonged to Eddie. A special thanks to Justin Upton for his assistance in making it happen.

W: Mike Clevinger (1-0); L: JC Ramirez (0-1)
