Indeed it is Kluber Day, and with their ace on the mound, the Cleveland Indians will look to win their series against the Tampa Bay Rays by taking their third straight at Tropicana Field.

Since returning from the disabled list on June 1st, Kluber has been absolutely dominant. He has struck out at least eight batters in 13 consecutive starts, tied for the second longest such streak in league history. Over that same span, he has a 1.40 ERA, has allowed just 55 hits and 15 walks, and has struck out 142 batters. It’s the most dominant run by the most dominant pitcher to wear a Cleveland Indians uniform during my 39 years on this Earth.

So how do the Rays, who haven’t scored a run in either of the last two games, try to match up with one of the best pitchers in baseball? Well, they’re starting right-hander Austin Pruitt. Pruitt, a rookie who spent much of this season in the bullpen before joining the rotation, is currently 6-3 with a 5.14 ERA. To his credit, he has allowed just one run over his last two starts, totaling 12.1 innings. Still, while Pruitt might go on to have a good Major League career, this seems like a huge mismatch in favor of the Tribe.
