After losing five of their first six games after the All-Star Break, the Cleveland Indians have gotten just the kind of pick me up they’ve needed over the past two games as the Toronto Blue Jays have come to town. After falling to the Tribe in the American League Championship Series last fall, he Jays have been one of the most disappointing teams in baseball this year, and currently sit in last place in the American League East with a record of 44-53. Now, the Indians have a chance to finish off a three-game sweep with today’s matinee game.

The Indians—who are currently using a six-man rotation with the return of Danny Salazar—will send Corey Kluber to the mound today. While the Indians have lost his last three starts, that has little to do with Kluber, who has allowed just five runs over 20 innings during that span. As has become typical during his career, Kluber is pitching extremely well after a slow start, and gives the Indians an excellent chance to win any time he is on the mound.

The Blue Jays counter with left-hander J.A. Happ. Happ, who also pitches for my fantasy baseball team, has a poor record of 3-6, but his 3.55 ERA and 1.26 WHIP are far better indicators of how he has pitched this year. He’s also dropped his ERA by nearly three quarters of a run over the last month, so he’s coming in with some momentum. There’s definitely the possibility of a great pitcher’s duel in today’s matchup.

Be sure to tune in at 1:10 today to cheer on the Tribe as they try to finish of the sweep of the Jays, and be sure to share your thoughts here at It’s Pronounced Lajaway!
