Happy Bradley Zimmer Day!

The Indians 2014 first-round pick is finally here, making his MLB debut in center field. Terry Francona will try to keep expectations low and ease Zimmer into things by batting him ninth.

The Tribe likely rushed Zimmer up to the majors due to all the injuries, but he’s done everything to prove he’s ready down in the minors. In 33 games at Columbus, Zimmer was batting .294 with a .371 OBP and an impressive .902 OPS.

His biggest immediate contribution, however, may be in center field. The Tribe’s center field defense has been abysmal over the past two years, and while Zimmer may not be a future Gold Glove winner, he is expected to be an upgrade over Naquin and Chisenhall.
