We get a sneak peek at the 2017 journey today.
Major League Baseball has released the 2017 schedule for next season. And my only question is this: Will it be a season of coronation for the Indians? Thankfully, we have a month for the Indians to find that answer.
But this is all about the future. All about planning your road-trips. And the Indians kick off theirs against the Rangers with a three game set, April 3-5. They wrap up their opening week with a three-game weekend series in Phoenix against the Diamondbacks on April 7-9.
The home portion of the schedule kicks off on Tuesday, April 11 against the currently spoiler-minded White Sox, and the rest of the opening homestand includes a three-game weekend series against the Tigers.
Other series of note throughout the season:
The Ohio Cup Home-and-Home series against the Reds is May 22-25, with the first two games wrapping up a five-game road-trip in Cincinnati.
The Tribe faces the National League West next season, and they get the D-Backs in the opening week. The Indians and Rockies get together for four games. Two in Denver on June 6 and 7 and then two at Progressive Field on August 8 and 9.
Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers come to Cleveland on June 13-15. The Padres celebrate Independence Day with us when they come to town on July 4-6.
The Tribe face the Athletics and Giants coming out of the All-Star Break (July 10-13) on July 14-19. Staying on the west coast, the Indians are in Anaheim and Seattle on September 19-24.
The regular season wraps up with a six-game homestand with the finale against Chicago on October 1.
