Fresh off a 14-4 beatdown that pushed their lead in the American League Centeral Division back to four games, the Cleveland Indians are back at it this evening against the Halos for the second game of a four game series and eleven game homestand.
Carlos Carrasco will toe the rubber for the Tribe tonight as they look to win consecutive games for the first time since the end of July. Carrasco was solid in his last start, pitching seven innings and giving up three runs against the New York Yankees, but suffered a tough 3-2 loss as the Indians struggled to score.
The Angels will counter with left-hander Tyler Skaggs. Skaggs is making just his third appearance of the season after missing all of 2015 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, but has pitched well, recording a 2.04 ERA over 17.2 innings.
This series is a terrific opportunity for the Indians to extend their lead in the A.L. Central. The Angels are just 49-65 on the season and have lost seven games in a row. Meanwhile, the Detroit Tigers face a stiff task as they head to Texas to face the A.L. leading Rangers for a three game set.
