This is definitely a day to tune in Tom Hamilton for the radio broadcast, as the product on the field will be utterly unwatchable thanks to MLB forcing camo uniforms on all 30 teams in honor of Memorial Day.

I’m actually a fan of the holiday-themed jerseys most of the time, and it’s a nice gesture to honor the troops, but camo and sports jerseys just don’t work (ask any Padres fan).

As for the actual baseball game, Josh Tomlin looks to become the first Indians starter to improve to 8-0 since Dennis Martinez in 1995.

El Presidente eventually stretched his streak to 9-0 and did it with a 2.35 ERA—a far more impressive feat, especially in the heart of the steroids era, than Tomlin’s 7-0, 3.35 start—but it’s still a fun achievement for Tomlin.

The Indians will also get a look at former No. 1 overall prospect Jurickson Profar, who has taken over at second base for the Rangers in place of the suspended Rougned Odor.

Back in 2012, Profar became the youngest player and the first teenager to hit a home run in Jacobs Field, breaking the record originally set by 20-year-old Alex Rodriguez in 1996.

A shoulder injury has slowed Profar’s progress, but he’s still just 23 years old and is getting back to form in his first full season since the injury.
