As they said they would do, today the Indians activated Lonnie Chisenhall, who had begun the season on the 15-day disabled list thanks to an injured left wrist. Chisenhall will start in right field for the Tribe tonight and will bat seventh in the lineup. To make room for Chiz on the roster, the Indians sent Collin Cowgill, he of the .083 batting average (and slugging percentage), to AAA Columbus.

As anemic as Cowgill has been at the plate, it might not be wise to expect Chisenhall to do much better for a while. He went 2 for 26 in spring training before the injury, and went 1 for 15 in his minor league assignments before rejoining the varsity. It will probably take Chiz at least a week or two to get used to facing major league pitching again.

And the pitcher he’ll be facing tonight, Taijuan Walker, is off to a good start in 2016. He’s thrown six innings in each of his two starts, giving up two earned runs in the first outing and only one earned run in the second, for a respectable ERA of 2.25. The Indians will counter with Danny Salazar, who is 2-0 this season with a stellar 0.79 ERA. Yes, the sample size is small, but it can’t be denied that Salazar has looked pretty good on the hill this season. Granted, he has issued six walks over 11⅓ innings, which is more than you’d prefer, but so far the free passes haven’t done much damage to his ERA.

Here are today’s starting lineups, brought to you by Frank Underwood for President:
