The Indians’ Class A team, the Lake County Captains, is hosting a baseball clinic for girls aged 9-13 on Sunday, February 28th from 11:00-1:00. Girls only. The clinic is being co-sponsored by Baseball For All, a national nonprofit founded by Cleveland native Justine Siegal to provide opportunities for girls to play baseball. Siegal, you may remember, is the first woman to pitch batting practice to a major league team (our beloved Cleveland Indians) and the first to coach for a major league team (the A’s–the Tribe dropped the ball on that one). Siegal will be back in her hometown to run the clinic, which takes place at the Captains’ batting cage facility at Classic Park.
Anyone who signs up for the camp will also receive a free ticket to a Captains game in 2016. Please RSVP to Nick Dobrinich at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 440-975-8085 x110. Registration for the clinic is free, so if you have a daughter/granddaughter/niece/friend/neighbor who loves baseball, sign her up. More details on the Captains’ website.
Oh, how I wish I were ten years old again.
