For the first time since 1997 the Indians will play a season that includes just 161 regular-season games.  The Indians still have a chance to go out on a winning note – a win today would permanently tip them over the .500 scales for the 2015 season.  Prior to the season, I thought this group had a lot of promise (based on the team’s strong pitching) and that anything less than a wild card berth would be a disappointment.  However, after watching the Indians play this year, I’ll be happy with being a game over .500.

Today, familiar face Rick Porcello takes the mound for Boston.  He’s given the Indians fits at times in the past, but has struggled for much of this season with the Red Sox.  For the Indians, Danny Salazar will close out the season.
