The Cleveland Indians are 72 games into their season, and while they have a disappointing record of 33-39, they still have 90 games to turn things around. Today represents a terrific opportunity to begin that turnaround as the Tribe will play a doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards after yesterday’s game was rained out.

The first game begins at 1:35 with Trevor Bauer taking the mound against former Indian Ubaldo Jimenez. Bauer was roughed up in his last start, and hopefully he can turn things around against Jimenez, who has pitched well this year, but continues his trend of pitching relatively few innings in each start.

For the second game, which begins at 7:05, the Indians have called up Toru Murata, the 30 year old right-hander has had a nondescript career since signing with the Indians organization in 2010, but is 5-3 with a 2.79 ERA for the Columbus Clippers this year. Murata has been called up as the Tribe’s 26th man for the doubleheader, after which he will return to Columbus.

What do you think Tribe fans? Can the Indians begin to turn this season around with a doubleheader on the road? It sounds daunting, but that’s why you play the game. Stop by It’s Pronounced Lajaway and let us know your thoughts!

For the Indians to win 90 games (and virtually assure themselves a playoff spot) they would need to go 57-33 (.633 win %) the rest of the way.

Oh well, there’s always next year. 🙂
