The day is finally here. The day our Cleveland Indians can again even their season at .500 since awaaaaaaay back on April 10 when their record stood at 2-2.
I like the pitching match-up in favor of the Tribe. Carlos Carrasco (7-4, 3.92 ERA) takes the hill against Bud Norris (1-4, 9.88 ERA). Carrasco is riding an impressive streak of his past 7 starts where he’s gone at least 6 innings, notched at least 6 Ks and surrendered 3 or fewer walks. On the flip side, Norris has coughed up at least 3 runs in his past 7 starts (dating back to last year) and recently came off the DL.
If the Indians win today, they will take their last 3 series in a row and 5 of their last 6 series. Now, that’s a good trend we’d love to see them continue.
Fingers crossed that Lonnie Chisenhall‘s fortunes can start to turn around, too. He’s 3 for 5 lifetime against Norris. Let’s hope that gives him confidence when he steps into the batter’s box. Lately, Lonnie looks like he could use a compass embedded in the knob of his bat because he seems totally lost at the plate. Yesterday, he went 0 for 4 with 3 Ks and none of them were good at-bats. His batting average is fluttering barely above the Mendoza line. Good luck today, Lonnie. Sincerely.
Here are today’s starting line-ups. Let’s beat those birds!
