The first interleague game of the season for the Indians takes place tonight at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario, as your hometown Cleveland Indians play host to the St. Louis Cardinals. How are the Cards doing this season? Thanks for asking! They’re doing quite well. At 22-9, they have the best record in the major leagues, and are on pace to win 115 games. The Indians, at 11-19, are on pace to win 59 games.
Despite that exalted win-loss record, the Cards come in to town having lost their last two games, while the Indians won their last game. But it’s been OVER A MONTH NOW since the Indians have won so much as two consecutive ballgames. If you think about that, or even if you don’t, that’s sadder than the last fifteen minutes of “Terms of Endearment.”
Carlos Carrasco will be the starting pitcher tonight. Not to be outdone in alliteration, the Cards will start Lance Lynn. Game time is at 6:10 PM. Just to mess with people’s heads, tomorrow’s game starts at 6:05 PM.
Here’s tonight’s starting lineups. I beg your indulgence with my nickname for the Cardinals shortstop—I’m trying to get this thing trending. So far I’ve had no luck, but I’m not one to give in.

Got something to say about tonight’s game? Like, a comment, maybe? We have an entire section for that!
apparently they’re using a plate that’s three inches wider on each side in the game today.
