If Indians fans are disappointed by the 5-8 mark, they shouldn’t blame the starters. They are 5-5 with a 3.78 ERA (69.0IP, 62H, 29R-ER) and 88 strikeouts (11.5 SO/9.0IP) against 24 walks
After three starts, Corey Kluber’s ERA is 2.49, ranking 16th in the Majors. He is third in the American League with 25 strikeouts. He has at least seven strikeouts in his last eight starts.
This will be Kluber’s fourth start in the White Sox ballpark (Do we HAVE to call it U.S. Cellular Field?) where he he has a 2-1 record with a 3.16 ERA (9ER/25.2IP) over those starts (27H, 4HR, 6BB, 20SO.
Kluber’s problem is out of his control He has the 14th-lowest run support average (RSA) in the Majors (2.08), as he has received 5 runs of support over his first 3 starts (21.2IP) and has had 3-runs-or fewer of support in each start.
The Tribe is 0-3 when trailing after the sixth, 0-4 when training after the seventh, 0-3 after the eighth.
Versus Kluber: Abreu, .353 with a homer; Garcia and Gillaspie, .375; Eaton, .200, Flowers, .091; Ramirez, .143. Abreu is the only White Sox player with more than one RBI vs. Kluber

    Lonnie Chisenhall catching? Impressive.

  • “The Indians have no walkoff wins, multi-homer games, pinch-hit homers, grand slams, back-to-back homers or leadoff homers.”

do you mean multi-homer games by a single player? because they have multiple games where more than one homer was hit (including last night)

Like what you’re trying to do with the site. Report is terrible. Good information about the pitching statistics.
The homerun paragraph near the end may be the most irrelevant compilation of meaningless statistics I have ever seen. No one cares if we have a walk-off hr, a grand slam, or back-to-back hrs in week 14. Like the site, improve the writing and this could get popular.

  • can someone please explain why we continue to pitch to abreu instead of putting one in his earhole every single at-bat?

    • Michael Strozewski says:

I wonder the same thing too. Curveballs down and away. All day long. If you walk him, so what. Can’t keep giving up home runs.

      • Michael Strozewski says:

Especially when I’m at work and the only way to watch the game is on some stream with that idiot Hawk Harrelson and I have to listen to him telling me that you can put it on board. Suck it Hawk.

    Have a day Lonnie…

Can we change the poll in the sidebar to “how Many games will the tribe LOSE in 2015?” No need to change the choices.
