By now I hope that all Indians fans have had the opportunity to calm down following Monday’s ninth-inning meltdown. I won’t lie—as I watched Cody Allen turn a win into a debacle, I used some language which would have caused even Bryan Price to say “Dude, tone it down, okay?”

The Indians are hoping to put yesterday behind them and focus on today’s game, and I suggest, for the sake of our sanity and for the sake of the ears of our loved ones and neighbors, that each of us take a deep breath and try to do the same. In fact, let’s all do it together, shall we?

Whew. I feel better already.

Carlos Carrasco will be the Tribe’s starting pitcher today. In his last start, one week ago at Progressive Field, Carrasco was hit in the jaw by a line drive from the bat of Melky Cabrera. Carrasco left the game, but was not seriously injured. Originally slated to pitch yesterday, the Indians started Trevor Bauer instead on his normal four-day rest, giving Carrasco an extra day to heal. In his two starts this season, the right-handed Carrasco is 1-1 with an ERA of 2.84.

The White Sox will send Hector Noesi to the mound. The right-handed Noesi has made only one start this season, losing to the Minnesota Twins on April 10. Noesi went 4 2/3 innings, striking out six while giving up four hits and issuing six walks. His 2015 ERA is 3.86.

Here are today’s starting lineups. Note that Michael Bourn is back in the lineup, and back in center field.

How about we get a nice 9-1 win? It would be nice to see this team cruise for the first time this year.

What’s the Tribe’s record when they don’t score first?

    Tim Allen, ho ho ho!

That’s a good win, providing a template for how to be successful going forward–a little bit of long ball, a little bit of small ball, excellent starting pitching, and a bullpen that got the job done (though they started to worry me a bit in the 8th). Hopefully, that’s something to build off of, and not just a flash in the pan.
