If you’re a fan of baseball novels, there’s a new book out you might like called Throw Like a Woman. It’s about a single mom who discovers she can throw 95 mph whenever she pictures he ex-husband’s face in the catcher’s mitt. A viral video gets her attention and a tryout, and she becomes the first woman in the major leagues, playing for the Cleveland Indians. It’s getting good advance reviews and even has a dust jacket blurb from sports writer (and Cleveland native) Joe Posnanski. (Full disclosure of shameless self-promotion: I wrote this book.)
There is a release party Tuesday, March 24th, at Loganberry Books from 7:00-8:30 pm, and I’m doing a few other signings/readings this spring. If you’re in the Cleveland area, I hope you can come out and talk baseball books and the Indians.
