Well, if yesterday wasn’t the nail in the Indians coffin, Verlander has a chance to hammer it in today.
They’re technically still alive, but anything less than a 12-3 record down the stretch would eliminate them from playoff contention. The Tribe needs a win streak, and it better get started today.

The Tribe goes into September even with the Tigers for the season series record. Then proceed to go 1-6 down the stretch. Sadly, the Tigers know that when they have to, they will beat the Indians. Until the talent gap is narrowed, I can’t see why Detroit wouldn’t remain very confident vs the Indians for the foreseeable future.

You gotta think Mike Illitch is going to kick the bucket sooner than later, and the Tigers impersonation of the Yankees will hopefully come to an end with his departure.
