In the Baseball-Reference searchable era (roughly 100 years of games) Carlos Carrasco is just the third Indians pitcher to allow one or fewer runs in six consecutive starts.

Baseball-Reference’s data is complete dating back to 1973, but is missing more data the further back you go (they don’t go beyond 1914 for now), so it’s impossible to say if this is a record, or even if it’s a record beyond 1973, but it’s a pretty darn impressive stat nonetheless.

Only Bob Feller and Justin Masterson have matched Carrasco’s performance in this era.

At the beginning of the streak, I wrote how Carrasco was benefitting from a streak of good luck – and that’s still partially true – but it has also become clear that he’s pitching with more confidence and the results are impressive.

The most encouraging sign, by far, has been Carrasco’s low walk rate (just four in six starts) which bodes well for continued success, even as his luck stats (like BABIP) normalize out over time.
