For his fourth consecutive start, Carlos Carrasco held his opponents to just one run, just the 12th such streak for the Indians since 1980.

Not to diminish Carrasco’s streak too much – his performance has been immensely valuable to the Tribe since returning to the rotation – but the dates of the streaks are telling of the environment of today’s game.

From 1990 through 2004, the Indians didn’t have a single such streak, but they’ve had four such streaks in the past two seasons.

And I can’t conclude this piece without giving a shoutout to Jason Stanford, whose streak spanned five seasons and accounted for one-third of his career starts.

hey ryan whats up with the win/loss columns. can we get some advanced stats in their place. maybe some FIP action or some ERAplus. something that tells me something about how the pitcher actually performed.
