The grounds crew at historic League Park, 1932

This past Saturday, the city of Cleveland held a ceremony for the refurbishment of League Park, where the Indians played until the mid-1940s. I wrote a tiny squib about the ceremony for the weblog and news site of my employer, the Michael Schwartz Library at Cleveland State University.

Clicking through to that site will take you to a link to the Plain Dealer’s article about the ceremony, as well as to a link to the League Park section of the library’s Cleveland Memory website. The Cleveland Memory site includes dozens of photos of the park, including the one at the top of this post. If you’re interested in the park’s past and its present, I recommend that you check those links out.
