In case you missed it, the Indians made a roster move before today’s game, placing Ryan Raburn on the 15-day DL due to a wrist issue, and recalling Tyler Holt.  They’ll take on the Twins tonight in Minneapolis, as Trevor Bauer takes the mound against Kyle Gibson.  Gibson seems to be one of those pitchers that is either all or nothing.  Out of his 23 starts this year, there are eight in which he allowed 0 ER, and another five where he’s allowed just 1 or 2 ER.  There are eight starts in which he allowed 5 or more ER.  Basically all but two of his starts have been all or nothing.  The Indians saw him on April 5 (1 ER on 3 hits in 5 IP) and on May 5 (0 ER on 2 hits in 7 IP).

Bauer is coming off a nice start against the Arizona Diamondbacks, his former team, where he allowed just 2 ER on 4 hits over 8 IP.  He’s faced the twins once this season (July 23) and allowed 3 ER on 6 hits over 6 IP, as he took the hard-luck loss 3-1.

The Indians had a nice weekend series with Baltimore, even if Sunday’s game was a bit frustrating from an offensive perspective.  Hopefully the bats get moving again and Bauer has a good night on the mound.
