Well, Game 1 of the second half couldn’t have gone much better. Now, what can Corey Kluber do for an encore this afternoon?
With Tigers rookie Drew VerHagen making his major league debut in Game 1 of the doubleheader, the Indians definitely have an advantage and a great opportunity to take the first two games of this series.
At first glance, it looks like Brad Ausmus is sending out a triple-a lineup behind his minor league pitcher, but there’s some logic to his exclusion of Alex Avila and Torii Hunter from the Game 1 lineup. The two veterans are a combined 6-33 with 11 K in their career against Kluber.
