I almost forgot what baseball was like! I’m excited to be back, and to be going to the Indians game tonight – where Trevor Bauer will be taking on Justin Verlander. You know who else is back (in the lineup)? Michael Brantley. Hopefully they can get a bit more going offensively, as compared to last night against Rick Porcello.
Because I am an adult, I couldn’t resist dragging stuffed cows with me on my journeys. I also couldn’t resist a cows-Cleveland Indians mashup photo on my vacation:
Back to more normal things, here are tonight’s lineups:
Indians:
Michael Bourn, CF
Asdrubal Cabrera, SS
Michael Brantley, LF
Jason Kipnis, 2B
Carlos Santana, 1B
Lonnie Chisenhall, 3B
Nick Swisher, DH
David Murphy, RF
Yan Gomes, C
Tigers:
Ian Kinsler, 2B
Austin Jackson, CF
Miguel Cabrera, 1B
Victor Martinez, DH
J.D. Martinez, RF
Nick Castellanos, 3B
Alex Avila, C
Eugenio Suarez, SS
Rajai Davis, LF
Bourn and Swisher are killing this team.
This FO is awful – and when they try to get involved…they make things worse. Best thing that could happen in the offseason is for Paul Dolan to sell the team.
The same Swisher who won the game the other day with a walk-off Grand slam?? That the one?
has anyone ever crunched the #s on what VMart has done against us since he left?….feels like .500 w/ a ton of production…uggh.
Agreed I’m curious my self
i’m convinced martinez is juicing… a career high of 25 homers and he’s already got 19 with several games to go before the break. a sudden power surge at age 35 seems suspicious.
Going into tonight, lifetime against the Indians Martinez is .366/.433/.602.
Thanks steph
Ugh, bats asleep again tonight…Swisher looks lost, Bauer looked fine but again leaving balls up in the zone…hope they put something together…
Extras i suppose
MICHAEL BOURN COMES UP HUUUUUGE!! Actually, Murph and Gomer did too. Those were 3 quality AB’s. Let’s get this in extras!!! ROLL TRIBE!
Welcome back, Steph. I missed you and your lively comments. Too bad you came back into a Tiger drubbing.
nathan gassed and on the ropes, of course that dense [insert expletive here] cabrera comes out swinging at the first pitch. the coaching staff really needs to get him on a program where he is not allowed to swing at the first pitch of the at-bat. his impatience drives me absolutely crazy.
