After Wednesday’s 13-inning, up-and-down marathon (and sweep of the Tigers), the Indians’ rotation and roster required a little shifting. Josh Tomlin was scheduled to start the opener of a three-game series in Baltimore, but since he went in as a reliever last night, Justin Masterson (2-3, 5.06 ERA) will be taking the mound for the Indians. He’ll be going up against Wei-Yin Chen (5-2, 3.69 ERA). Among the roster moves: right-hander Zach McAllister was placed on the 15-day DL with low back strain and, I would imagine, an equally bruised ego. The Indians selected the contract of RHP Mark Lowe from AAA Columbus and recalled lefty T.J. House from Columbus. Left-hander Kyle Crockett was optioned to Columbus. Nyjer Morgan was moved from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL.

Indians starting lineup:
Bourn, CF
Cabrera, SS
Brantley, LF
Raburn, DH
Swisher, 1B
Gomes, C
Santana, 3B
Murphy, RF
Aviles, 2B< Orioles starting lineup: Markakis, RF Machado, 3B Jones, CF Davis, 1B Cruz, DH Clevenger, C Hardy, SS Flaherty, 2B Lough, LF

I just said “walking the leadoff man in four is a sure sign of the classic impending masterson meltdown”, and what do you know… two beanings in a row

i fucking hate our defense, that bourn/murphy ball is an easy minor league play

I’m on a 10 minute break at work. I just checked the score, and the Indians are up 3-0! Wait, 3-1. No, 3-2. And it’s 5-3 Orioles. I’m so glad I checked on this game.

don’t look now, but when Chis gets enough qualifying AB’s, he will be leading the league in batting average

a little more cleanup and we’ll really start to threaten. you don’t sweep the tigers being lucky. easy to rag on them but save the hate for when the weather starts to go down, not up

Chisenhall is now 3 for 6 against LHPs. Making a pretty good case to play every day. He would be leading the batting race by 50 points if he qualified.
