Josh Tomlin makes his 2014 debut with the Indians, as he’ll face Samuel Deduno of the Twins.  Perhaps they can actually score some runs tonight?  If John Axford hadn’t surrendered that home run, they’d probably still be playing…I had no faith that the offense could do anything.

gah, more extremely minor lineup tweaks (murphy batting 5th tonight). maybe by game 140 francona will have collected enough data to believe it’s time to stop batting swisher 2nd.

actually, maybe not – he’s a “great clubhouse guy” – so uh, bat him second, or something?

Swish had a good night–2 hits, an RBI, and a run. Plus a nifty unassisted double play.

I like scoring. Also Tomlin pitches quick. Also I know what I said yesterday but I wanted to see how Tomlin looked back after Tommy John. Lookin like TJ worked out for JT, but please just let us win.

Hey, George Kottaras, thanks for stepping up for us when we needed a sub. It was amazing that you got home runs on your first TWO major league at bats. But we’re going to go ahead and designate you for assignment. No hard feelings, right?

Actually, just his first 2 ABs with the Indians…he’s actually been bouncing around for quite a few years.

dear god. Cabrera should sit for a week for that error. Just an amazingly pathetic play.

I was impressed by Tomlin’s performance tonight; far better than anything Carrasco could have given us. Hopefully Tomlin can keep it up!

I’m happy for Tomlin. If he can keep that up the rotation will be pretty solid.

It was a true pleasure watching Tomlin PITCH instead of Carrasco THROWING tonight. Great way to come back!

(And sweet 8 lb, 6 oz baby Jesus, another sterling defensive performance by the Fightin’ Wahoos tonight… Oof.)

Yeah. I’ll take pitching over mystical “stuff” any day.

cabrera has become a major liability…for someone in a contract year you would think he would step up not regress
