This should’ve happened before the season started, but it appears that Carlos Carrasco has finally seen his last start in the rotation.
To his credit, however, Carrasco seems to be better-suited for the bullpen, as he showed some promise last year in a more experimental fashion. But now it seems to be a permanent move. He had better hope it works; this cat has had his nine lives and then some.
Zach McAllister will step in on three day’s rest tomorrow to take Carrasco’s turn in the rotation. Likely, Trevor Bauer would then have a shot to remain here.
For a team who’s having a horrible West Coast swing, any little spark can help. Maybe this move can be it.
