There’s not a whole lot going on at the moment, but Terry Francona did a little bit of housecleaning anyway.

Brad Mills moves from third-base coach to bench coach, first-base coach Mike Sarbaugh moves over to the other side of the diamond flashing the signs and wheelin’ ’em ’round at third.

That leaves Sandy Alomar being moved from bench-coach to first base. But we know that Sandy is up for potential managerial jobs, so this could need some filling all over again in the next few months.

Mickey Callaway and Ty VanBurkleo are safe, despite my waiting outside VanBurkleo’s front door with a fiery trident at numerous points of the season.

Mills did a sterling job as a third base coach this season,I can’t recall any of his decisions that I thought were blatantly wrong.

I’m in favor of this move for purely selfish reasons.
My tickets are on the third base side,10 rows back, and Millsy has a rather large head.
Sarbaugh on the other hand is skinnier and has a smaller coconut so he’s less likely to block my view.

Mike Gallego is my favorite third base coach,he’s like a garden gnome out there.

Not only should Mickey Callaway be safe, there should be a 50 foot statue built of his likeness outside Progressive Field, and he should receive a Medal of Honor, an Emmy, and maybe a Nobel Peace prize for his work with Ubaldo this year. He should be mentioned somehow in the lyrics of the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ too.
