During this series, the Indians will face the exact same pitchers that they did when the Angels were in Cleveland a week or so ago.  First up is Zach McAllister vs. C.J. Wilson (last time Ubaldo Jimenez matched up against Wilson).  Wilson got the win after allowing just 2 ER on 7 hits against the Tribe.  He has decent career numbers against the Indians – he’s 3-2 with a 2.72 ERA.  The Indians had some opportunities against Wilson back on August 10, and managed to strand 10 on base.  It was a close game until the Angels managed to put up 4 runs in the top of the 8th, on the way to winning 7-2.  McAllister has only faced the Angels once in his career, and was less than fantastic, giving up 5 ER and 8 hits over 6 innings pitched.  Angels batters had a .308/.308/.538 line against him that game.

this infield popup-off that santana and cabrera have been having for the last month is rather irritating.

when you don’t walk and have no power, striking out as often as bourn does is not tolerable. his contract is going to become quite the burden.

Go on you wee beauty, been waiting for a big inning for a while now. Even with the home run I’d still sit Chisenhall. Be interesting to see what they do at 3b next year. He rakes at AAA, then can’t recognise off speed in the bigs.

McAllister I will hunt you down if you give this straight back. Your lucky there’s 8500 miles between us.

I went to the whole series when we recently played the Angels in Cleveland (plus that awful Thursday night game against Detroit right before the Angels series, ugh). We should have destroyed C.J. Wilson that game, but kept letting him off the hook.

Being down 5-0 early in Sunday’s game, after sitting through 3 straight pathetic losses with tons of errors, minimal and no clutch batting, and bad pitching, my brother wanted to leave. And I almost let us. He said, if it’s still 5-0 after 5 innings, let’s go. I said I’d make him a deal, that we stay for the 6th, and we’d have to score 2 or 3 to stay, anything less, I’d reluctantly agree to leave. We wanted to get home and spend more time with mom and dad, so if we stayed around to watch another ridiculous crappy game, we’d feel terrible.

But lo and behold, it was the bottom of the 6th that did it for us, the 2 homers. I knew we’d win. Then Santana led off the 7th with the tying homer. What a comeback. Looks like we’ve started things off better tonight, hope it continues throughout this series. Our spirits were at an all time low after getting swept by Detroit and dropping the first 2 to the Angels, then being down so early again. But dang, they can still get hot and still have a chance….Go Tribe!

    Double playtastic.

Top of 6th and I’m done my chili…hopefully this doesn’t backfire

  • Leo O'Neill says:

Keep forgetting that McAllister was traded for 2 months of Austin Kearns.

Well this is pretty good stuff
